4) Explore gender roles in Gamer and/or The Surrogates.
For my essay, I decided to write on number four and expand. I wanted to expand on how women are treated and compare and contrast on the surrogates and the gamer. Also, I want to write about how men are viewed in both films.
I like the idea of analyzing the men. Often women in fiction are put on a pedestal, almost "othered," while the men seem normal (normal being the same old tropes that characterize male characters).

ReplyDeleteRole playing in the sexes is a huge concept in both Gamer and The Surrogates. Both potray that you almost NEED to be a man in order to be a leader or sucessful. Prove us boys otherwise.
